What is Baroque dance?

Baroque dance

This dance form is an example of a partnered dance. In classes a choreographed sequence is generally taught. There is generally no room for improvisation.

Baroque dance is the precursor of ballet and originated in the court of Louis XIV. Some of the names of the moves are similar though ballet is danced high on the toes whereas baroque favours heels just off the ground.
